With 11 registered teams representing literally all over the world, it promises to be a week of great sailing, where the most world-famous sailors will meet at Marina di Scarlino.
The second of the five events of the 52 SUPER SERIES 2023 season will start on Monday 29 May.
After less than eight months, the Gulf of Follonica once again hosts the coveted international fleet. In September 2022, rough seas and medium-strong winds were the protagonists, allowing the US team Quantum Racing of Doug DeVos (navigator the Italian Michele Ivaldi) to win, followed by Takashi Okura’s Sled and Harm Müller Spreer’s Platoon in third place, with the Italian Vasco Vascotto calling tactics.

The Turkish Provezza presents himself, after the first event of the circuit held in Saint Tropez less than a month ago, with a six-point lead over the rest of the fleet. Tony Langley’s Gladiator (GBR), now with Guillermo Parada at the helm, is in second place, tied on points with a renewed Quantum Racing powered by American Magic (USA).
A team not to be overlooked is undoubtedly Andy Soriano’s Alegre, with the Australian 470 Olympic gold medalist, Will Ryan, and the Italian navigator Francesco Mongelli.
The practice race will take place on Monday 29, while racing is scheduled from May 30 to June 3.
The Yacht Club Isole di Toscana will host owners and sailors at its facilities, giving them an authentic Tuscan experience.
The Costiere di Scarlino will be the setting for a challenge to the last tack, where alongside the tight competition the rules of fair play and environmental sustainability will apply.
